Diversity and Inclusion
At Good Ventures, respect for people is fundamental to how we do business. We are committed to upholding human rights and creating an inclusive environment for our employees, customers, suppliers, and wider community.
In line with our Human Rights Policy and our Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Policy, we do not tolerate discrimination of any kind. We are committed to equality and fairness regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
As a small and growing company, many of our systems and processes are evolving, but our intent is clear: people should be treated with dignity and respect, and supported based on their skills, contribution, and potential rather than personal characteristics. We are always open to feedback and suggestions on how we can continue to improve in this area.
Who is the Evolve team?
We have a team of over 30 people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures, predominantly female. Our team includes people from 11 different nationalities, as well as individuals of different ethnicities, ages, lifestyles, beliefs, and abilities.
As we recruit locally from the Hertfordshire area, our ethnicity mix broadly reflects the local demographic. We recognise the importance of representation and continue to look for ways to build a more diverse and inclusive workforce over time.
Our internal processes
We believe people should be recruited, developed, and rewarded based on merit and suitability for the role. Our recruitment and people processes are designed to support fairness, objectivity, and inclusion, in line with UK equality legislation.
We are committed to:
-
Recruiting based on skills, experience, and potential
-
Reducing unconscious bias through objective criteria and, where possible, blinded recruitment approaches
-
Supporting positive action to encourage applications from underrepresented groups, without engaging in positive discrimination
Our employee handbook and JEDI Policy set clear expectations for respectful behaviour, equal opportunity, and inclusive workplace culture. We also strive to provide reasonable adjustments and support for employees with disabilities or additional needs, and we encourage open communication to ensure everyone can work comfortably and effectively.
Disability inclusion and accessibility
We recognise that disability inclusion is an important part of human rights and equality. While there is no legal requirement for private companies to meet specific website accessibility standards, we aim to make our digital content as accessible as reasonably possible and to continuously improve it over time.
If you experience any barriers when using our website, or require information in an alternative format, please contact us and we will do our best to support you.
Our external contribution
As a company that creates products and content, we recognise our responsibility to contribute positively to an inclusive society.
Our products are designed to be inclusive and suitable for all genders, skin types, and hair types. Our gender-neutral packaging reflects this approach, and we aim to communicate clearly and transparently so customers can make informed choices.
In our website content and social media, we aim to represent a diverse range of people and skin tones. When working with influencers and partners, we welcome collaboration with individuals from underrepresented communities and are always open to hearing from new voices.
Our charitable giving focuses primarily on sustainability, wellbeing, and social impact, including support for healthcare workers, environmental initiatives, and community projects. Where possible, we also support causes that promote inclusion, equity, and positive social change.
Governance and accountability
Our commitments to diversity, inclusion, and human rights are supported by a wider framework of policies, including our Human Rights Policy, JEDI Policy, Employee Handbook, Supplier Code of Conduct, and Whistleblowing Policy. These policies guide our internal practices and our expectations of partners and suppliers, and are reviewed regularly as our business evolves.
