Evolve EGF + Collagen Renewal Booster natural EGF serum

What Is EGF? The Science Behind Our Most Advanced Serum Yet

Discover how EGF supports skin renewal, why cellular communication matters as skin ages, and the story behind our new EGF + Collagen Renewal Booster.

When we began developing our EGF + Collagen Renewal Booster, we knew we wanted to create something more advanced than a traditional firming serum. We were interested in a relatively unexplored area of skincare: not simply giving skin ingredients for hydration or structure, but supporting the cellular communication involved in renewal and repair.

That led us to one of the most exciting formulas we have created in more than 15 years at Evolve, combining Transdermal EGF with plant derived PDRN, vegan collagen peptides and multi molecular hyaluronic acid in a formula that is 100% natural, 60% organic and COSMOS Organic certified.

But to understand why we are so excited, it helps to understand what is happening inside the skin first.

What is EGF?

Illustration of cellular communication involved in skin renewal

EGF stands for Epidermal Growth Factor. It is a signalling protein involved in cellular communication during tissue renewal and repair.

This idea of communication is important.

When we think about skin ageing, we tend to focus on the materials our skin needs. Collagen for firmness. Hyaluronic acid for hydration. Lipids for the barrier.

All of these matter, but skin also relies on communication between cells as part of the processes that coordinate renewal and repair.

Our EGF + Collagen Renewal Booster uses Transdermal Epidermal Growth Factor, or T-EGF, a biotech derived signalling protein that helps support the skin's natural renewal processes. It helps support these signalling pathways, improving the appearance of fine lines and skin texture while helping to maintain barrier strength.

So rather than thinking about EGF as simply another ingredient for wrinkles, we think it is more interesting to understand what it represents.

It allows us to think about supporting the signals involved in skin renewal, as well as the structure itself.

Why does cellular communication matter as skin ages?

Your skin is constantly maintaining itself.

Cells renew. The barrier repairs. Structural components are maintained. Skin responds to environmental stress and works to return to balance.

For all of this to happen effectively, different biological processes need to work together.

This is why cellular communication has become such an important part of the way we think about skin longevity at Evolve.

Our work in longevity science looks at five interconnected areas of skin biology, from the energy that powers repair and the structures that keep skin hydrated and firm, through to barrier regulation, renewal rhythms and cellular communication.

You can explore all five in our Skin Longevity Hub, but EGF brings us into one particularly fascinating area: Cellular Communication & Regenerative Signalling.

This is concerned with the signalling involved in coordinating how skin renews and repairs itself.

And it is where our new EGF + Collagen Renewal Booster does something different from the more traditional serums in our range.

Why didn't we create an EGF only serum?

T EGF, plant derived PDRN and vegan collagen peptides in Evolve EGF serum

EGF may be the star of the story, but we do not believe skin works through only hero ingredients.

Skin biology is interconnected, so we wanted the formula around EGF to reflect that.

We combined T-EGF with two other advanced biotech actives, plant derived PDRN from spinach and vegan collagen peptides from Arctic microalgae, alongside multi molecular hyaluronic acid.

Each has a different role within the formula.

T-EGF supports renewal signalling

T-EGF is the communication element.

It helps support signalling pathways involved in the skin's natural renewal processes, helping to improve the appearance of fine lines and texture while supporting barrier strength and more resilient looking skin.

Vegan PDRN supports visible renewal and recovery

Our vegan PDRN is derived from spinach and created through sustainable biotechnology.

It helps support visible skin renewal, improving the appearance of texture and smoothness while soothing skin and supporting hydration.

This is particularly exciting for us because it takes an ingredient that has become a major conversation in advanced skincare and approaches it in a way that fits naturally with Evolve's formulation philosophy.

Vegan collagen peptides support firmness and hydration

Our vegan collagen peptides come from upcycled Arctic microalgae.

They provide amino acids and hydration supporting compounds that help improve visible elasticity, smooth the appearance of fine lines and reinforce the moisture barrier, helping skin look plumper, smoother and more radiant.

Together, the three actives give us a simple way of explaining quite sophisticated science:

T-EGF supports the signals involved in renewal, PDRN supports visible renewal and recovery, and vegan collagen peptides support hydration and structure.

Rather than asking one ingredient to do everything, we are supporting skin in several complementary ways.

What can you expect from our EGF serum?

Evolve Organic Beauty Face Serum EGF + Collagen Renewal Booster

All of the biology is fascinating, but what really matters when you introduce a new serum into your routine is what you can actually see and feel.

We tested the EGF + Collagen Renewal Booster with our own Evolve customer panel, and the results were some of the strongest reasons for our excitement about the finished formula.

After using the Booster, 90.3% said their skin looked firmer and fine lines appeared reduced, while 93.6% said their skin looked smoother and 96.8% said their skin felt more hydrated.

We also saw 93.5% say their skin felt more resilient and 96.8% say their complexion looked more radiant.

This is not simply a wrinkle serum or a hydration serum. People noticed changes across firmness, smoothness, hydration, resilience and radiance, which reflects the multi pathway approach we took when developing the formula.

Internal research conducted on a panel of Evolve Organic Beauty customers in 2026.

Is EGF suitable for mature or hormonally changing skin?

The EGF + Collagen Renewal Booster is suitable for all skin types, but we think it becomes particularly interesting when skin begins to feel as though it does not recover quite as readily as it once did.

We designed it for people wanting to improve the appearance of fine lines, loss of firmness or dehydration, and it can be particularly relevant for mature and hormonally changing skin where changes in renewal, hydration and resilience may become more noticeable.

It is also designed to support hydration, barrier strength and recovery, so advanced does not have to mean aggressive.

That distinction matters to us.

We want to create skincare that becomes more biologically intelligent without becoming harsher on the skin.

Can EGF skincare still be natural?

Natural biotechnology ingredients used in Evolve EGF skincare

This was one of the most exciting challenges of developing the formula.

EGF sounds firmly rooted in the world of high technology, while Evolve has spent more than 15 years specialising in natural and organic skincare.

We do not see those things as contradictory.

In fact, we believe the meeting point between natural ingredients and advanced biotechnology is one of the most exciting areas in skincare today.

Our formula combines biotech derived T-EGF with plant derived PDRN from spinach and vegan collagen peptides made from upcycled Arctic microalgae. The finished serum is 100% natural, 60% organic, COSMOS Organic certified, Vegan and Cruelty Free.

For us, that is what Pure + Proven looks like.

It is not about choosing between natural skincare and serious science. It is about using science to understand skin more deeply, then finding ingredients and technologies that allow us to support that biology while remaining true to our formulation philosophy.

How to use our EGF + Collagen Renewal Booster

Applying Evolve EGF + Collagen Renewal Booster to skin

Despite the sophistication of the formula, we wanted the Booster to be incredibly easy to add to an existing routine.

Apply 2 to 3 drops to cleansed skin morning and evening, ideally while your skin is still slightly damp. Press it gently over your face, neck and décolleté, then follow with your moisturiser.

If you prefer an even simpler routine, you can mix 2 to 3 drops into your usual serum or moisturiser.

We think advanced skincare should make your routine smarter, not necessarily longer.

Why EGF changed the way we think about skin ageing

There is another reason this particular serum means a lot to us.

While researching and developing it, we found ourselves thinking less about individual signs of ageing and more about the biological systems underneath them.

EGF took us into the science of cellular communication. From there, we began looking more closely at the other systems involved in how skin maintains itself over time, including cellular energy, structural integrity and hydration, barrier regulation and natural renewal rhythms.

That work helped shape our Skin Longevity Framework, our way of understanding the interconnected biological systems that influence how well skin repairs, adapts and remains resilient over time.

So the EGF + Collagen Renewal Booster does not simply fit within our thinking around skin longevity.

In many ways, it is the product that helped us get there.

You can explore the deeper science and all five biological areas in our Skin Longevity Hub.

For now, EGF gives us a fascinating place to begin, because it reminds us that supporting skin is not only about what we give it. It is also about understanding how skin itself works.

That is where we believe the future of skincare becomes really exciting.

Not fighting skin ageing, but understanding the biology behind it and finding more intelligent ways to support skin's natural ability to renew, repair and remain resilient over time.
