Eco Friendly

As artisan producers of natural and organic beauty products, it is our company ethos to make it as easy as possible to be healthy and green in everyday life. We truly respect our incredible planet and are always looking for new ways to be green. We always strive to create our products in the most sustainable and ethical way possible.

Packaging

At Evolve Beauty, we use recycled materials in our packaging wherever we can, and we are working to close the gaps where we cannot yet. Our glass bottles are made from fully recyclable glass and we use recycled card for all of our cartons. When it comes to plastic, we use recycled PET wherever we can, which is fully recyclable.

Our 250ml bottles are made from 100 percent Prevented Ocean Plastic. This is recycled plastic collected in coastal areas where waste collection is limited and plastic is at risk of reaching the sea. It is gathered by local collectors, who are paid for it, and processed into new bottles. Every batch is certified and traceable back to the region it was collected in, so the claim can be checked rather than taken on trust.

Every piece of card and paper we use (from packaging to marketing materials) is FSC (Forest Sustainability Certified) to help limit deforestation and ensure forests are sustainably managed.

In 2025 we moved to FSC certified cartons printed directly, which let us remove the plastic label we used to apply to every carton. That single change takes around 330,000 plastic labels out of our packaging every year. Our cartons are FSC certified, fully recyclable and industrially compostable.

Our labels and packaging are printed using non-toxic soy and vegetable-based inks.

We encourage our customers and our artisans to recycle everything we can, and we’re always on the lookout for new ways in which we can reuse or upcycle our used product packaging!

We offer refills across several sizes. A refill comes in a glass bottle with no pump, so you keep and reuse the pump you already have, which is the hardest part of the pack to recycle. We have sold more than 28,000 of them since 2019.

Sourcing Ingredients

We buy natural and organic ingredients from as close to home as possible, and we seek out fairly traded materials wherever we can. Our cacay oil comes from a supply chain certified by the Union for Ethical BioTrade, which covers both ethical sourcing and the protection of biodiversity. Every ingredient is thoroughly screened to check its clean, eco and ethical credentials.

We choose to buy our exotic active ingredients in powder form, so that they don’t transport excess water and only ship the core ingredients. We also purify all of our own water, to ensure that we aren't transporting it around unnecessarily.

We have never and will never use plastic microbeads in our products. Instead we use natural exfoliants such as organic sugar granules and upcycled coconut shell particles.

As recent studies have suggested that certain chemical UV filters can damage the health of corals, we instead use reef-friendly non-nano Zinc Oxide in our Climate Defence SPF 30.

Our Eco Studio

Whilst our artisans are always full of energy, we try to limit other forms of energy usage on-site in our studio. This includes the energy we use to produce, transport and sell our products to our customers.

We’ve furnished our eco studio with sustainable flooring, we’re using recycled carpet and recyclable non-slip flooring which are reminiscent of natural materials. We’re also using recycled astroturf in our break area, where the whole team gathers for lunch everyday to catch up and unwind. Our studio electricity is bought on a zero carbon tariff, and the studio is fitted with motion activated LED lighting.

We try to make our products in an energy-efficient way, encouraging our team to switch off equipment and replacing less-efficient equipment.

We do our best to avoid unnecessary travel, through using public transport, carpools and where possible, arranging telephone and video conference meetings, rather than face-to-face.

In our eco studio, we only use reusable crockery and cutlery, rather than disposable items, and we minimise paper printing where possible.

Cruelty-Free and Vegan

Evolve believes that beauty products should be cruelty free. We are proud to be Leaping Bunny approved. A global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements.

All of our own brand cosmetic and personal care products are approved under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme, the internationally recognisable gold standard for cruelty free products. We adhere to a fixed cut-off date policy and proactively monitor our suppliers to ensure that our products continue to adhere to the Leaping Bunny criteria. Our supplier monitoring system is also independently audited.
